Video: The Lost African Tribe Living In India's Remote Forests

Asha Stuart's short film is a work of art.

The story, divided into three chapters, follows one of the members of the native African tribe living in India's forests for more than 500 years.

Known as the Siddis, their ancestors were sold in India as Arab slaves. Today, there are still an estimated 70,000 Siddis living in Central and South India.

They belong to the lowest caste, the 'untouchables,' which means they face all sorts of discrimination. Although protected by the Indian government, their social status is one of the reasons they decided to keep living in the forest, far from civilization, where they can feel free.
