Roshawn Terrell is a machine learning and AI researcher for Ethicsnet.com. He studies neuroscience, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence. He is a guest-lecturer at Oxford, where he will be leading a research team to look into applying his and colleague's findings to building more sophisticated artificial intelligence.

Dr. Sarphan Uzunoğlu is an Associate Professor in UiT Arctic University of Norway Language and Culture Department. He was previously a senior lecturer at Kadir Has University (Istanbul) across New Media, Public Relations and Information Departments. Dr. Uzunoğlu is also a founder of Newslabturkey.org, Journo.com.tr, TGS Academy (Journalists’ Union of Turkey Academy) and Media Innovation and Technology Network of Turkey (mint360.org), as well as a regular contributor to Punto 24, Medyapod podcast network and other independent media organisations. Dr. Uzunoğlu received his Ph.D. from Galatasaray University Media and Communication Studies Programme. He completed his graduate studies at Kadir Has University via the Turkcell Technology Leaders Scholarship, and his undergraduate studies at Izmir University of Economics.

Nechama Brodie is a South African journalist and researcher. She is the author of six books, including two critically acclaimed urban histories of Johannesburg and Cape Town. She works as the head of training and research at TRI Facts, part of independent fact-checking organisation Africa Check, and is completing a PhD in data methodology and media studies at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Malia Politzer is the executive editor of piqd.com, and an award-winning long-form journalist based out of Spain. She specializes in reporting on migration, international development, human rights issues and investigative reporting.

Originally from California, she's lived in China, Spain, Mexico and India, and reported from various countries in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Her primary beats relate to immigration, economics and international development. She has published articles in Huffington Post Highline, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, Vogue India, Mint, Far Eastern Economic Review, Foreign Policy, Reason Magazine, and the Phoenix New Times. She is also a regular contributor to Devex.

Her Huffington Post Highline series, "The 21st Century Gold Rush" won awards from the National Association of Magazine Editors, Overseas Press Club, and American Society of Newspaper Editors. She's also won multiple awards for feature writing in India and the United States.

Her reporting has been supported by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, The Institute For Current World Affairs, and the Global Migration Grant.

Degrees include a BA from Hampshire College and MS from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where was a Stabile Fellow at the Center for Investigative Journalism.

Mo is a born-and-bred Capetonian who has spent much of his adult life in England, Holland and Germany. He has had the privilege of holding senior marketing and strategy roles in the financial services and consulting industry. Most recently, he looked after the global account of a premium German auto manufacturer at a multinational ad agency.

Bayla Metzger is a radio reporter and producer based in Burlington, Vermont, where she rises before the sun to produce Morning Edition at Vermont Public Radio. She cut her teeth in West Texas, where she was a reporter and producer at Marfa Public Radio covering a wide range of beats, including energy, rural issues and the arts. A story she produced about mutton busting – the rodeo event where children ride sheep – was awarded a 2018 regional Edward R. Murrow Award. Journalism is Bayla’s second career, following more than a decade telling branded stories through print and film. She studied audio documentary at Transom Story Workshop.

Emily Prokop is the host of the short history podcast, The Story Behind, which she turned into a book in October 2018.

She is also the host of Hate to Weight, which chronicles her and her co-host's weight loss journey.

She has been a podcaster since 2015, but die-hard podcast fan since 2012. She also edits podcasts full-time.

She studied journalism in college and went on to work in newspapers, magazines, and puzzle book publishing before finding her love of podcasts and podcasting.

She listens to podcasts whenever she can, and purposely takes long drives through her lovely state of Connecticut to enjoy them.
