AAN (Afghanistan Analysts' Network) is an independent non-profit research organization that has been doing stellar work for years. It consists of both Afghan and foreign (Western) analysts who are real experts on their respective topics.
However, it is also understandable that – apart from journalists, academics and others – many people do not really have the time to read their long papers and articles.
For that reason, this podcast is the perfect solution.
Although it appears irregularly, it is worth following. Its focus lies on different Afghanistan-related topics, especially in terms of current policies, the ongoing conflict between the Afghan government and the Taliban or the country's deeply problematic opium production.
And again, the people who talk about these issues are real experts, often quoted by other NGOs, governments or media outlets.
