Has Banksy's Identity Accidently Been Revealed?

As a big fan of political art, I was surprised to read that the identity of famous street artist Banksy might have been revealed accidently.

It seems that Banksy could be Robert Del Naja, member of the band Massive Attack

In a recent interview, musician and DJ Goldie said the following thing:

"Give me a bubble letter and put it on a T-shirt and write Banksy on it and we're sorted. We can sell it now...No disrespect to Robert, I think he is a brilliant artist. I think he has flipped the world of art over."

Many people are sure that "Robert" is nobody else than Del Naja, who is also a close friend of Goldie. Both did graffiti art in the late 1980s and were in the same circles.

A close look at Massive Attack's concerts that took place all over the world during the last years also reveals that Banksy's art appeared at many occasions at almost the same time.

Besides, some people suspect that Bansky isn't a single person but consists of an artist collective lead by Del Naja.

Del Naja himself denied everything, saying it would be "a good story but sadly not true".

i fully understand that no journalist can resist checking rumours about banksy's identity. and maybe even find out and reveal it to the public. for me, as a big fan of political art, banksy's graffitti are far more important and i respect his efforts to hide his/hers identity. much like the writer b. traven considered his novels worth publishing and not his person.
