Mpindi Abaas is the CEO and Founder of the Media Challenge Initiative (MCI), a youth driven non-profit building the next generation of journalists. Under MCI, Mpindi opened a Media Academy, with a TV and Radio studio accelerator space for training journalism students who don’t have access to practical facilities in their universities. He also founded the first ever journalism fellowship program; an aggressive multimedia journalism training program awarded to the best 25 students from the Inter-University Media Challenge.He is passionate about solutions and impact journalism that bring hope to the world. Mpindi is a 2017 Young Emerging Leaders Program Fellow, a 2018 Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur and was recently selected among 200 African young leaders to join the the inaugural 2018 Obama Foundation Leaders-Africa Program.
