For first timers, trying cannabis can be intimidating. It’s important to keep a few things in mind, whether introducing a friend or family member to the substance.
First rule of thumb: find out why they’re curious to try cannabis. Is it for medicinal, or recreational, purposes? There are plenty of different strains and products on the market that offer different potencies, and target various aliments. Some may benefit more from THC, or CBD, or a combination of both. There are products that can get users “high”, and others that don’t.
Either way, it’s wise to start slow. Low-THC strains, or vaporizers, are great for first timers. Avoid edibles — it can be hard for even the most experienced cannabis-connoisseur to predict how infused food will affect him/her.
No matter how one chooses to ingest, it’s important to maintain a comfortable and peaceful environment. For some, this may mean being social. For others, it may be a more relaxing setting (like staying home).
