Video: One Killing Every Three Days

“We made this film because no one, particularly the US media, seemed to care.”

They're Killing Us is a documentary about the assassinations of social leaders and community organizers in Colombia.

The three filmmakers (Buder, Laffay and Bustos) claim that they have got used to the violence in Colombia, but the profile of the victims caught their attention: human and environmental rights defenders.

Many hoped that the peace accord signed in September 2016 would bring the end of a 60-year civil war that has caused more than six million internal displacements and killed over 250,000 Colombians. However, the territories controlled by the guerrilla have no authorities now, and new armed groups — including narco traffickers — have taken the lead

This is the story of those who keep risking their lives for their community.
