U.S. Foreign Policy Or When Everyday Is A Mystery

Even countries that are trying to align with the U.S. don't know what that means anymore. They don't know what to expect because there is no clear foreign policy coming from the White House.

Slate's National Security correspondent, Fred Kaplan, and Mary Harris discuss "the three-headed beast" leading U.S. foreign policy and how each is trying to set their own agenda.

Trump advisers Mike Pompeo and John Bolton engaged last week in a sort of political improv through the Middle East,  defined by Kaplan as "the clean-up crew."

What it interesting about this podcast is the discussion about the personal political interests of both Pompeo and Bolton on their trips and how they set their own agenda, allowing their political values to bleed on U.S. foreign policy (or lack thereof.)

By showing no insight into diplomacy and what it involves, and growing three heads pulling into different directions, U.S. foreign policy has turned into a sinking ship
