The so called refugee crisis continues, and the conflicts in the following countries are the reason for it.
1. Afghanistan: The country has faced war for almost four decades, witnessing civilian casualties every single day. It's not just the Taliban insurgency that is killing innocent Afghans, but also the US/NATO's military occupation, the Afghan government in Kabul, its army, police and militias. Other extremist groups like ISIS are present too.
2. Syria: The Assad regime and its Russian and Iranian allies continue to bomb innocent Syrians regularly, and they also commit chemical massacres like the one on Douma. The US and its allies are on their own mission in Syria, killing "terrorists", and have slaughtered thousands of innocent people too.
3. South Sudan: The country's civil war went largely unnoticed in many Western countries. However, the crimes that occur there have always been bloody and brutal. The conflict began as a feud between forces loyal to President Salva Kiir and then-Vice President Riek Machar. It has engulfed the country in ethnic violence and a devastating humanitarian crisis. Tens of thousands have died in the country.
4. Somalia: Another African country with a long history of conflict. In fact, Somalia is a perfect example of a failed state. During the 1990s, civil war destroyed large parts of Somalia. Tens of thousands of people continue to live in refugee camps while extremist groups like Al Shabaab and Al Qaeda cells have emerged to conduct bloody attacks. The US military is involved in Somalia too, especially its notorious JSOC elite crew that is conducting drone strikes and other clandestine operations.
5. Myanmar: The Rohingya, according to the UN the most persecuted minority on earth, have faced mass murder and ethnic cleansing during the last months and years. The UN also described the actions of the Burmese government as "genocidal". Tens of thousands have been raped, killed and tortured, and/or have left the country.
