In Moria camp on the Greek island of Lesbos, daily conditions could not be worse. Violence and overcrowding are omnipresent. One single toilet is used by more than 70 people. The refugees who "live" in the camp are desperate.
But now, it seems that the situation is escalating. According to NGOs and charities who work in the camp, children as young as 10 are trying to kill themselves. Mostly, they are traumatized and suffering from severe depression.
"Despite the fact that we push to move these children to Athens, as soon as possible, it's not happening. Those children are still here," said Luca Fortana from MSF.
Mostly, the refugees are coming from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. For that reason, ethnic and sectarian conflicts take place too.
Moria camp was supposed to house around 2,000 people. At the moment, more than 8,000 are living there.
Even for Fortana, who used to work in other regions around the world, the brutality in Moria is something rare.
"I've never seen the level of suffering we are witnessing here every day," he said.
