In many Syrian areas bombed by the Assad regime, Russia or the United States, the Syria Civil Defense, mostly known as the White Helmets, is the only group of first responders still helping the victims. Over the last years, the White Helmets have saved thousands of lives.
However, conspiracy theories against them are still widespread. Mostly, they are fabricated by Assad's regime and Russian state media, or some propagandists supporting them.
