This Real-Life Story Of Lies, Love And Danger Reminds Us Once More That Reality Surpasses Fiction

Pauline Dakin lived her entire childhood escaping a danger of which she had no clue. She knew there was something strange in her family but, no matter how many times she asked, her mother would always tell her that she was too young to know, that the time would come to learn the truth once she was old enough.

That day arrived a little after her 23rd birthday.

Finally she understood why all the secrecy, why all the moving and the hiding and the running. This story went far above many Hollywood thrillers. Now that she knew the truth, she was forced to start over, leave town, break up all her relationships, quit her job and play the game somebody had set for her.

This game went on for many years. Pauline had to learn to play with her own rules, lessons she learned the hard way. She lost along the way every piece of trust and was left angry and heartbroken.

This is one of the most interesting stories I’ve read so far this year. An outstanding representation of a family under endless life threat, betrayal, deception, love and forgiveness. But, most of all, a portrait in the resilience of family bonds.
