The Hidden Pride Flag: A Protest Against Russia's Anti-LGBTQ Laws

Russia is one of the most homophobic countries in the world. It is even illegal to display the LGBTQ Pride flag and, during the World Cup, this law was especially hard on those who attempted to break it. However, a group of six activists from Spain, the Netherlands, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia found a brilliant way to rally: Each of them wore the soccer jerseys of their homeland. They then lined up and visited the most iconic sites in Russia as a hidden human Pride flag—fooling the law while peacefully protesting against discrimination.
