Spain's Taj Mahal Under Threat of Demolition

What does it take to achieve full devotion? Fatih? Passion? Yearning?

Don Justo Gallego Martínez was born in 1925. As a young man he decided to consecrate his life to Our Lady of Pilar - it was the year 1961 when Don Justo began his journey, he had set his mind to the mission of building her a cathedral. With the help of volunteers, donations and the inspiration he obtain from Gaudi, the years began to give their fruits; colorful mosaics, columns, crypts and stained-glass windows hand-made by Don Justo himself.

Now Gallego is 93 years old, his work, still in process, is a masterpiece in threat of demolition due to the lack of permissions and papers that prove the security of the building.

There is a petition pleading the government to reconsider. Meanwhile his story is both tragic, beautiful and, perhaps above all, highly interesting and deeply touching.
