Neil Hauer is an independent analyst focused on Syria, Russia, and the Caucasus. Based in Tbilisi, Georgia, he served as senior intelligence analyst at The SecDev Group, an Ottawa-based geopolitical risk consultancy, for three years. He is presently engaged primarily on Russia’s role in the Syrian conflict.
Pulp Hockey is the biweekly joint podcast by Steve Matthes and Ray Ferraro. Ray provides most of the analysis while Steve leads the discussion and plays off of him.
This is an interesting one as Ray has long been one of the best analysts on the Canadian TV circuit. As a former NHL player with a very long and successful career, he's well positioned to give realistic insights and occasionally put more armchair-style analysts in their place (always a sight to treasure).
The format here is a familiar league rundown-style approach. As much as it hurts to hear Ray say the wheels have 'totally fallen off' the Colorado Avalanche, my favourites, he's bang on and the problems are everywhere right now. He doesn't really fall off anywhere further along the line on the podcast, either, with reasoned takes on the Blues' recent run and the tire fire that is the Anaheim Ducks as well.
If you've ever watched hockey on TSN, you know what you're getting here. Fellow Ray Ferraro fans, look no further.
