Photo Series: Ever Heard Of Wakhan?

Deep in Afghanistan's north, in the province of Badakhshan between the Pamir Mountains, you find the Wakhan corridor.

Wakhan has always been a very isolated place. Contrary to most parts of Afghanistan, you will not find war in this region. It is mainly inhabited by nomads and only accessible on foot. 

For years, Wakhan was a real insider tipp among hikers. This should not be a surprise since the region is uniquely beautiful.
