She writes both fiction and non-fiction focusing on African stories that need telling. "Of goats and poisoned oranges" has been extremely well received in Kenya and beyond. It tells the story of a Kenyan middle aged power couple and their complicated marriage. The novel explores issues of greed, revenge, betrayal and murder. It runs from the 1960s to 2013. She recently moved to Dakar, Senegal from Kenya to work on her second novel. She also works at as the Africa Communication Manager at a leading global strategy consulting firm.

As a Kenyan, there is one topic that always inspires patriotic enthusiasm at times when I feel my country is doing lots that I am not proud of - our running prowess. This is something so dear to us as Kenyans - the fact that we are recognized on the global stage for something so positive. Good news is hard to come by these days.

A few years back, I read Haruki Murakami's What I talk about when I talk about running. I still think of it as a philosophical read rather than one on actually running.
