Revelations about Harvey Weinstein started a downfall not only of him but of many actors and celebrities with him. It inspired the viral trend #MeToo which encouraged individuals who had been victims of harassment to go public. It also spiked a society-wide debate in many countries. Before the recent revelations, what happened had been kept secret for many years, or was silenced.
