Three workers in China tried to kill themselves by throwing themselves from factories producing Barbie dolls, Nerf guns and Disney Frozen characters, according to undercover researchers affiliated with the US-based China Labour Watch. Their report revealed that the staff worked up to 110 hours overtime.
The workers who attempted suicide were producing toys for companies such as Mattel and Hasbro.
China Labour Watch said: “These brand companies continue to violate the rights of workers who manufacture their products.”
One of the workers who attempted suicide lost their lives, whereas another is still recovering in the hospital.
While Mattel denied the allegations of violating any rules, Hasbro hasn't commented.
