Emma, a comic artist from France, has drawn this cartoon to illustrate the amount of mental energy that women spend on keeping the house running. She notes that in most heterosexual couples men — even those who are really helpful — often act like junior employees in a new company. They just wait till someone gives them a single task to do, but don't actually take responsibility of running the whole house. And while they can, technically, be doing about 50% of the work around the house, the woman might still be the one "managing" it. And if you have ever been responsible for a project, you know that it takes a lot of effort — just keeping all the details in mind can get really stressful.
There is no magic solution to this problem: gender roles are deeply rooted in our societies. But we could, at least, be more aware of the disparity.
This is just great!
