Whether we admit it or not, most of us are fascinated by love stories, touched by them in some form or the other, and if we are lucky, we are in one.
In this world, love is still held in high regard — the idea that there is a "mate" for each one of us is still relevant, and continues to enthrall us and also pressure many of us to consider it a failure if we don't. The "What is Love" podcast explores this challenge in all its forms. It brings true stories from around the world not just in the conventional sense of a "romance" but truly what life is like when bet everything on some one or some thing, as well as what life is like when we are still looking for love.
This episode about two gay men who were not able to marry for more than 40 years and had to keep their love secret moved me. The social, legal and psychological stress of not being able to choose who you can or cannot love is sometimes unbearable. But ... this is a happy story. Each episode is about 30 minutes long and is a life-affirming story to start a day. 'Tis the season to love ... after all.
