Talking With Boys About Sexual Assault

We've all heard the phrase "Boys will be boys". But what if we can talk to them in ways to bring out the best in them? How about "Boys will be good boys"?

Over the last few months, I've piqd several stories about preventing sexual assault as well as resources for healing. Most of the programs address girls and women. What's missing? Conversations with boys and men.

In this NPR radio interview, Jeff Brady features a program that encourages honest conversation about sexuality among boys. To change the way that young boys and men are taught about consent and sexual assault, a youth group in Philadelphia is hosting conversations, fostering dialogues, and ultimately letting them come to the "right answer" on their own. These groups are working to shift the overall culture surrounding these issues, and the youth involved are responding.
