America's Most Wanted: Whitey Bulger
James J. "Whitey" Bulger Jr.'s life trajectory had all the trappings of a Hollywood biopic – a childhood in a tough South Boston area, an early introduction to street crime, a brother with a taintless political career, a deal with FBI to become an informant, and a long, long latter life spent as a fugitive.
On October 30, 2018, Bulger was found dead in a prison in West Virginia, US, ending a dramatic and crime-ridden life story. He was 89.
Bulger (1995-2018) managed to evade US federal authorities for 16 years, who had pursued him with a US$2-million reward. Bulger was wanted for 19 murders when he was captured by the FBI in 2011. A Boston jury later found Bulger guilty of 11 murders and numerous counts of extortion and racketeering. Bulger's sensational life has been adapted into several TV shows and films, such as "The Departed" and "Black Mass".
