Swansea's Community Energy Project

There is no other place in the world like Swansea. Surrounded by beautiful nature, inhabited by the most fascinating characters, this coastal Welsh city is still finding its ways out of the crisis brought by the decline of the heavy industry.

For years it felt like an enormous potential of the region has been going to waste. Which is why, reading about new community energy projects popping up in the area, makes it a really exciting news!

A new community solar farm in Dunvant, a suburban district in the City and County of Swansea, is planned to generate enough clean power for 300 homes. All profits from the scheme will be ploughed into regenerating the local area, building education and skills to “make the rural economy more vibrant”, and the project is open to investments from Swansea citizens.
