Use CBD, Use Less Medications Overall

A new study has once again highlighted the benefits of cannabis – particularly for women.

Cannabidiol, better known as CBD, is a nonpsychoactive chemical compound found in marijuana and hemp. Among the most common reasons people use CBD products, according to the article, are insomnia, depression, anxiety, and joint pain.

One of the study’s most significant findings states that 55 percent of users are female. Additionally, “Forty-two percent of the CBD users said they had stopped using traditional medications like Tylenol pain relievers or prescription drugs like Vicodin and had switched to using cannabis instead,” according to the article.

Researchers also found that users prefer vaping concentrates to flower, followed by edibles.

Among consumers, doctors noted confusion between hemp and CBD extracted from marijuana.
