Can a beer a day really help to keep the doctor away? According to scientific evidence… yes. Research shows that, when consumed in moderation, the hoppy beverage offers plenty of health benefits.
Beer drinkers have long considered it to be more of a food than drink; and there’s something to it. In comparison to wine, beer contains more protein and vitamin B. Beer also contains silicon, which is essential for bone development (and helps boost brain power).
The evidence doesn’t stop there: a study published by the European Association for the Study of Diabetes found men who drink one-to-six beers per week have a “21 percent lower risk of diabetes” than those who don’t drink beer.
Research also suggests that beer can help to keep teeth clean by blocking the growth of bacteria. Perhaps its biggest benefit: hops (the main ingredient in beer and a cousin to the cannabis plant) helps fight inflammation. Now, that’s something I can drink to — cheers!
