Emran Feroz is an Afghan-Austrian journalist currently based in Stuttgart, Germany. A United Nations rights panel has highlighted racial profiling against people of African descent in Germany.
"People of African descent in Germany suffer racial discrimination, Afrophobia and racial profiling in their daily lives, but their situation remains largely invisible to the wider society," the expert panel said at the end of its first official visit to the country.
The expert group will release a report with its findings and recommendations to the UN Human Rights Council in September 2017.
In fact, racial profiling in Germany is not just taking place against African people, but also against other migrants.
