According to a report published by Conflict Armament Research (CAR), Houthi forces in Yemen are using a drone that might have been built by Iran.
The Houthis are using the drones to attack the missile defense sites of Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen.
For more than two years, Yemen has been facing a bloody war between the US-backed, Saudi-lead coalition and the Houthi rebels who are often (allegedly) supported by Iran.
At least six of the armed drones were captured in October on a known Iranian smuggling route that runs through Oman, while another one was found after an attack by Houthi forces near Aden, Yemen, last month.
Like its Western counterparts, the Iranian drone program is very secretive.
Special note: According to my own experience and research on this topic, I believe that Iran's drone technology is mainly based on the American one. According to different sources of mine, the Afghan Taliban sold at least one US drone they captured to Iran a few years ago.
