When Some Are Mourning Hugh Hefner, Let's Remember "A Bunny's Tale"

When the news of Hugh Hefner's death reached Twitter, some wondered if a man could go to paradise if he already lived in one. To most feminists, this kind of suggestion was cringe-worthy. Yes, Hefner himself may have lived in a paradise, but the women he surrounded himself with certainly did not — those who left his mansion later compared it to an internment camp with mandatory group sex on the schedule.

I will not argue that Playboy belongs to the past — his flagging business speaks for itself. But I would like to use this date to remember "A Bunny's Tale", the 1963 expose written by Gloria Steinem that showed all the details of a seemingly glamorous life of a Playboy Bunny, with their low wages, damaged feet and stuffed cleavages. Or, if you don't have enough time, this shortened version by Dazed.
